Journaling Is Your Daily Deposit.

Whether said once or a thousand times, you've probably heard, 'Start journaling.

Okay okay okay… you get that it is important and that there is a benefit to doing it. It could even be intimidating in the moment but you want to start. Thoughts might pop up, what am I supposed to do, just write? That’s it? How do I know if it is working even when I am not very good at it yet?

There is no good or bad. It is just writing and getting your thoughts down on paper. The practice is simply putting thoughts into words and using writing as a forcing function for clarity. Journaling is a Daily Deposit that can change your life.

Journaling not only clarifies your thoughts and helps you look at what you are thinking objectively but it also gives you a check point. It’s an insight into how you are doing that day. You can go back and refer to that moment in time to see how much progress you have made. How much you have grown and evolved. This is one of my favorite places to have student-athletes I work with start their journaling process. I also use this prompt from writer, Dickie Bush, when it has been a minute since I opened my journal and stared at a blank page.
